PHARMACEUTICAL PROPERTIES
Rafoxanide, the active ingredient in the specialty ATLAXANIDE, is an anthelmintic from the family of salic ylanilides active on the fluke (F. hepatica), oestrus and hematophagous gastrointestinal nematodes. Rafoxanide is characterized by a very slow metabolism which gives it a long remanence in the body.
TARGET SPECIES
Cattle, sheep and goats.
INDICATIONS
Treatment of fascioliasis (F. hepatica), estrosis and nematodoses due to blood-sucking nematodes in ruminants.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
Oral use at a dose of 7.5 mg of active ingredient / kg of bodyweight, ie 3 ml of suspension per 10 kg of bodyweight.
CONTRAINDICATIONS AND INTERACTIONS
Do not use in dairy females when milk or its derivatives are intended for human consumption. Beneficial interaction with levamisole and certain benzimidazoles (thiabendazole).
