Levamisole hydrochloride (corresponding to 2.542 g of Levamisole) : 3.00g

Excipient qs : 100ml
PHARMACEUTICAL PROPERTIES
Levamisole is an anthelmintic from the imidazothiazole family with great activity on the larval and adult forms of gastrointestinal and pulmonary strongles. The mode of action of Levamisole is linked to muscle paralysis of the parasites. Levamisole is well absorbed by the oral route, it diffuses well in all tissues which allows it to reach pulmonary nematodes and forms in hypobiosis. Levamisole has non-specific immunostimulatory effects. Levamisole is rapidly metabolized by the liver and eliminated via the urinary and bile ducts, hence its relatively short waiting time.
Oxyclozanide, an anthelmintic from the salicylanilides family, has a broader spectrum that includes trematodes, blood-sucking nematodes, hypodermic larvae and Oestrus spp. However, despite its age, Oxyclozanide has the advantage of being the most active product on paramphistomum spp, both adults and larvae. Its action is exerted on both adult and immature forms by a decoupling effect of oxidative phosphorylation in the trematode. Pharmacologically, Oxyclozanide is characterized by a relatively long half-life (long remanence) attributed in part by its strong fixation to plasma proteins (99%).
The two products, Levamisole and Oxyclozanide, although of different persistence, are characterized by great therapeutic complementarity.
